Debra Harris,

United Cooperative Services (UCS) has made a statement that new street lights, as directed by the City of Granbury, would be at no cost to the homeowners (or homeowners association).  A picture was included showing a Galvanized Steel Pole – High Pressure Sodium (Yellow/Orange) light, with a dark sky fixture (I combined the pictures provided, and have attached it as a close approximation).  The City will pay the billing by UCS for the following lights, maintenance and energy consumption.

The light locations are:

  1. 2204/2206 Waters Edge Drive Property Line (6 Homeowners along West Side of Waters Edge Drive)
  2. 2409/2411 Waters Edge Drive Property Line (2410 across the street and 2 on each side + 3 on each side of this Property Line location for 11 homeowners)
  3. 2505/2507 Waters Edge Drive Property Line (2505 across the street and 2 on each side + 3 on each side of this Property Line location for 11 homeowners)

This lighting will affect homeowners on either side of this proposed Property Line (as noted above).

The next step is to get a petition from the home owners affected with the statements:

Ø  Requesting a street light to be installed at _________________, and that the owners agree to provide the necessary utility easements for electric service to the light.

Ø  (All of the work should be able to be completed with existing utility easements, since locations have been selected at existing Electric Utility Transformers by UCS.  But in the case additional street lights are requested, in additional locations there may be additional utility easements required.

Street light installations requested that are of a different design, or at more locations than noted above, will have to be approved by the Public Works Director.  If approved by the Public Works Director, then all costs will be paid for by the petitioning citizens (or Homeowners Association).

In the future development of the property across from 2204/2206 Waters Edge, additional Street Lighting would be considered, but may or may not be determined to be installed with a new fixture at this location providing light in this area.
