Moments in Time Hike & Bike Trail

Moments in Time Hike and Bike Trail System will serve as a connector for two major highway arteries - US Hwy 377 Business and US Hwy 51, City and County services to neighborhoods (without use of automobiles), the historic square to some school facilities, municipal airport to downtown square and recreational facilities. As a direct result of this system, children will be able to walk to school safely and the elderly will have access to City, County, and recreation services.

Phase I of the Moments in Time Trail system is a 2 1/4 mile hike and bike trail starting at City Hall and the downtown square. The trail will follow Lambert Branch in the park area immediately behind City Hall, across Rucker Street, Travis Street, under the railroad bridge and follow the railroad to the new park area. Then it will follow the railroad to the next railroad bridge at Crossland Road and proceed to Pearl Street Park. It will then follow Crossland Road all the way to the municipal airport. The trail will be 10-feet wide, sidewalk-type concrete, with landscaping, moments in time recognition plaques telling of history at each specific location. It will include benches, lighting, and picnic tables along the way.
